Gentek Vinyl vs. GPGentek is one of my go to brands and I've liked the jobs I used it on (as well as my customers). Every siding manufacturer offers some limited lifetime warranty on their products that includes a fade protection clause. However, all vinyl siding will fade over time, typically the warranty includes the number of shades that the product can fade to and that the product will fade the same based on the amount of sun exposure. I've never used Georgia Pacific siding as it is not available where I live, so I can't provide any meaningful comparison.
Mitten Highly RecommendedI wouldn't hesitate recommending the Mitten vinyl siding to anyone. We wanted fiber cement but chose the vinyl and I have never looked back. It is inexpensive, which is always a huge bonus and it hasn't faded even though it is in the direct sunlight for months on end. What I love about this siding is it is almost completely maintenance free. I would buy this vinyl siding again for another home should I ever have to make that decision again. CertainTeed vs AlsideI get to see all the lines available for vinyl siding and I must say that Mastic siding and some of the Certainteed products are better than the Alside Prodigy line. While Alside Prodigy is fine and used by many homeowners, it just isn't my first choice when it comes to quality vinyl siding.
Poor Quality CertainTeedWhen we moved into our new home a few years ago we chosen Certainteed vinyl siding, it was the lower grade option. Believe me when I say you get what you pay for. The first storm after the house was sided left dents everywhere from the hail stones. I would suggest you pay a little more and get a better quality siding. The only advantage was the choice of colors and profiles that were offered when we bought it. I will not use Certainteed again and will definitely go with a better quality siding in the future. |
