Find siding installation cost and prices for different cladding products and materials per square foot. Siding installation prices will typically account for 1/3 to 1/2 of the cost of an entire project. The percentage cost will depend on how complex or simple the project details, as well as the cladding materials used.
Vinyl panels will run $3 to $4 per square foot for installation. This is the lowest psf cost for any material - these panels are lightweight and relatively easy to install.
Expect the installation for a project to cost between $6 and $9 psf. This is quite a bit more than vinyl because the job is more difficult and some may argue more dangerous. Fiber cement boards are much heavier and require additional labor to hand and install. They require a spcialized cutting tool and the fiber cement dust is considered dangerous to inhale so this makes the jobs less desirable for some contractors.

Vinyl shake siding prices on the installation will run you $1 to $2.50 per square foot. This is a bit more expensive than lap panels due to the additional pieces that have to be installed. Each of the pieces is light and can be installed by a single installer and therefore doesn't require the extra labor of say fiber cement siding.
