Brick Siding Calculator

Our brick siding calculator can help you get industry average pricing for your next brick siding project, whether it is simply an accent wall or re-siding the entire home. Brick siding is one of the more expensive materials to use to clad your home because the bricks must be individually mortared into place by a professional mason. Compare this to the ease with which cedar shingle siding can be installed using a simple nail gun. In addition, brick siding may involve reinforcing existing walls to make sure that they can bear the weight of the significantly heavier brick tiles.

Our brick siding cost per square foot estimator takes into account many of the different options that are available when it comes to home siding projects. Some of these factors include the size of the overall project, the removal of existing siding, the inclusion of corner posts, soffits, trim or fascia boards and more.

Cost Of Brick Tiles

Simple brick tiles will typically cost anywhere from $.50 to $1.50 per square foot. Specialty brick tiles (either due to their size, shape or color) will typically run $1.50 to $3 per square foot for the brick itself. The contractor or mason that you use for the installation should be able to get you a contractor price, which may be lower than the prices quoted here. Often times, however, the contractor charges the homeowner the same price due to the fact that they pick up the tiles and deliver them to the job site. This is a pretty fair trade for the consumer, generally speaking.

Additional Materials

Additional materials will run anywhere from $2 to $4 per square foot and will include items such as F channels, J channels, corner posts, mortar, facia boards, soffits, underlayment, and collated nails. Brick requires the mortar that is going to be more expensive than with a typical vinyl siding project.

Cost Of Installation

The cost of installing brick tiles is going to be more expensive than other types of home siding. The reason is that the bricks must be mortared together, which requires a professional mason who often charges a much higher hourly rate than vinyl or fiber cement siding installers. Masonry is a skilled task that requires many years of experience in order to ensure that the job is done correctly.

Additional Concerns

Certain homes may need to have structural reinforcements added to the walls in order to support the additional weight from brick tiles. Without this added support, you could have some significant structural damages down the road. These assessments and repairs can add significant cost to the project. This is one place where free project bids can save you some serious money!

Complete Project Cost

Completed brick siding projects will run $4.50 to $11 fully installed and covers all of the bricks, all additional materials and the cost of the installation itself. Compare this to our hardiplank cost estimator.
